Hi, I am Jonathan van Wunnik

I’m an expereinced UX/UI designer — or maybe better is a ‘designer for interaction‘ — with over a decade of experience in creating meaningful and delightful online products and services. I always combine form with function. I follow the rules of simplicity, and work from the core of user experience to the visual details. I bring a solid process to the table and believe that good teamwork can make solutions better.

Since 2017 I live and work in Billund, Denmark.

Work experience

• Freelance UX/UI Designer, Billund

  Digital Designer and Consultant, 2017 – Present

  As a freelance UX and visual designer I work for clients in Denmark (e.g. Mascot Workwear) and The Netherlands. I am a volunteer at Billundgrafen kids movie club. And I do personal photography projects.

• Studio Dumbar, Rotterdam

  Senior UI/UX Designer, 2007 – 2016

  As part of the digital team at world renowned design agency Studio Dumbar in Rotterdam, I worked on a diverse set of digital projects and a broad range of clients.

  I was responsible for the concept and design of digital projects. My work consisted of advising clients, creating concepts, online strategies, user interface designs, prototypes, giving presentations and workshops, and directing other designers of the team.

• Informaat, Baarn

  Senior Interaction Designer, 2006 – 2007

  Via Informaat, I worked as an interaction designer at the UX Studio at ABN Amro bank offices in Amsterdam on a new and improved internal sales ‘dialogue’ application. This involved interviewing end users and stakeholders at local banks, wireframing, (paper) user testing, UI/visual design.

• Fredhopper, Amsterdam

  Interaction Designer, 2003 – 2006

  As part of Fredhopper’s user experience team, I worked on a broad range of projects, evaluating (user testing), improving and designing e-commerce, financial and rich information interfaces.

• Meruteam, Den Haag

  Junior Interaction Designer, 2003

  At Meruteam I designed interfaces for in-house enterprise applications (European Patent Office) to PDA software, while closely working together with usability researchers and graphic designers.

• Tick, Delft

  Founder, Web Designer, 2001 – 2003

  Together with a fellow student I founded web design agency Tick. Interaction and visual design, and front-end development were shared responsibilities. Other important aspects included client contacts, acquisition and project management.
